Ozone is a crucial air pollutant that damages human health and vegetation. As it formed by the sunlit oxidation of nitrogen oxides volatile organic compounds, current ozone mitigation strategies are primarily focused on summer. By analysing pollution episodes in eastern China, observed daily total oxidants accumulation cool seasons (spring autumn: 60 ppb winter 40 ppb) comparable to measured summer (60 indicating fast photochemical production secondary pollutants including over year.
